DR. ACHIAMAH OSEI-TUTU AND DR. MEENA SINGH
We are two black female hair transplant surgeons that are board-certified in dermatology. There are less than a dozen of us in the world. We have dedicated our careers to treating the forms of hair loss specific to women of African descent. Over half of black women experience hair loss and it has become an epidemic in our community.
Although, potentially severe and cosmetically disfiguring; if recognized early, these types of hair loss can be treated. In addition, recent studies have shown that many products targeted towards black women contain toxic, harmful chemicals that are getting absorbed into our circulation. Unfortunately, there is a lack of education on the signs and symptoms of these hair and scalp disorders and a lack of access to dermatologists who are familiar with managing our conditions.
The purpose of this site is to provide a one-stop resource for all things hair for women of African descent. We provide all-natural, chemical free, certified-organic products. We give educational resources to aid in recognition and next steps for hair issues. We also provide information for hair loss specialists in your area.
